DVM, cVMA (Dr. B)
Meet Dr. Mark Beerenstrauch, the driving force behind Pet Health and Pet Care, where the mission extends beyond exceptional veterinary care. His vision is to revolutionize the veterinary experience for pets and their parents, ensuring that visits are more personalized, enjoyable, and fulfilling—not just for pet families but the entire team.
What sparked his journey into veterinary medicine? An unexpected companion, Nita. This dog changed the course of his life, shifting his focus from business management to pet care. Over two decades later, he has cultivated this passion into a career that redefines what veterinary medicine can be.
Unsatisfied with the impersonal nature of high-volume and corporate veterinary settings, he founded Pet Health in Las Vegas, where quality care, personalized experiences, and scientifically backed treatments are at the heart of every decision. Now, with the opening of Pet Care in Henderson, this vision is expanding—bringing the same dedication to excellence, extended appointment times, and integrative care to a new community.
At the core of his approach is a deep commitment to transforming the pet parent experience and elevating his team’s expertise through rigorous training. Every interaction is designed to be meaningful, every visit comforting, and every team member empowered to provide the best care possible. Inspired by the latest innovations in both veterinary and business practices, Dr. B continues to cultivate a culture of empathy, excellence, and continuous learning.
Outside of Pet Health and Pet Care, Dr. B enjoys time with his family, the companionship of their beloved pets, and a deep connection to the land through their family farm in Nebraska. Photography and his love for sports—especially all things University of Nebraska—provide a perfect balance to his passion for veterinary medicine.
Medical Director, DVM, cVMA, Fear Free® Certified
Meet Dr. Renee Lewis, a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian who brings her expertise and warmth to the Pet Health and Pet Care family. A longtime Henderson resident of 15 years, Dr. Lewis is especially excited to serve her own community through the opening of Pet Care.
Driven by an early love for animals and a desire to support people, Dr. Lewis explored multiple career paths focused on helping others. Ultimately, she returned to her original dream of becoming a veterinarian, combining her passions for pet care and client education.
After earning her degree in Animal Sciences and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from LSU, Dr. Lewis has continually expanded her knowledge through certifications in veterinary medical acupuncture, Fear-Free methods, and abdominal ultrasound. She is known for her ability to listen deeply to pet parents’ concerns and involve them in their pet’s care, ensuring they feel informed and confident in every decision.
Dr. Lewis finds great joy in working alongside her team, where collaboration and mutual respect enhance the quality of care. She values the time and attention given to each patient, particularly those with anxiety, and believes this thoughtful approach sets Pet Health and Pet Care apart. Her German shepherd, Lily, has taught her the importance of patience and understanding with sensitive pets—an insight she applies daily in the clinic.
When not at work, Dr. Lewis enjoys staying active with yoga and Pilates and exploring the outdoors through hiking, sailing, and traveling. Her recent sailing certification reflects her adventurous spirit and love for continuous learning, which she brings to her role at Pet Care.

Pet Parent Experience Specialist
Claire Towner is a Pet Parent Experience Specialist, where she plays a key role in ensuring each visit is welcoming, calm, and compassionate. Inspired by a lifelong passion for animals, Claire was drawn to veterinary medicine out of a deep desire to support pets and the people who love them. She is proud to be part of a team that prioritizes quality care and continuously raises the standard for veterinary medicine.
One of Claire’s favorite aspects of her role is building lasting relationships with both pets and pet parents. She loves watching puppies and kittens grow over time and finds great meaning in being there for families through every stage of their pet’s life. Whether she’s greeting pet parents, helping guide them through the visit, or offering support during difficult moments, Claire works to ensure everyone feels informed, cared for, and respected.
Her work is also deeply shaped by her own experience as a pet parent. Claire shares her life with Shadow, a formerly feral dog from Lake Shasta, whose transformation into a confident companion taught her valuable lessons in empathy, trust, and patience. These lessons guide her daily work and interactions with pets at Pet Care.
Outside of work, Claire enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She also has a passion for teaching loose-leash walking and recently completed a custom-designed wall display for her tarantula terrariums—combining her creativity with her commitment to animal enrichment.
Head Veterinary Assistant
Sami Enomoto has been part of the Pet Health family since 2022, where she quickly became known for her empathy, dedication, and ability to create a calm, supportive environment for pets and their people. Her journey into veterinary medicine began unexpectedly, sparked by a friend’s encouragement, and quickly grew into a passion for helping animals thrive.
At Pet Health, Sami played a key role in ensuring thoughtful communication with pet parents, providing follow-up support, and assisting in delivering the high-touch, personalized care that defines our practice. She brings this same commitment to our new Pet Care location, where she is especially excited to continue her work closer to home and help establish a welcoming, connected atmosphere for pet families in the Henderson area.
Sami’s own experience as a pet parent shapes her approach to veterinary care. Her Chihuahua/Papillon mix, Fennec, was rescued from a sewer with severe head trauma—and his recovery reminds her daily of the importance of compassionate, individualized care.
Outside of work, Sami stays inspired through music festivals, baking, travel, K-dramas, and creative outlets like painting. Her warmth, creativity, and strong sense of purpose make her a natural fit for Pet Care, where she looks forward to building lasting relationships with a whole new community of pets and their people.

For Jalen Rodriguez, veterinary medicine is more than a career — it’s an opportunity to serve others, both human and animal, in meaningful ways. He joined the Pet Care team in 2025, drawn by the hospital’s heartfelt commitment to educating pet parents and creating a calm, comforting experience for every family.

He sees each day as a chance to learn something new, and he approaches every interaction with kindness and purpose.
His own pets, Sunny and Stella — self-proclaimed drama queens — are a constant source of laughter and love. Losing a childhood pet to unrecognized medical issues continues to inspire Jalen to educate pet parents with empathy and honesty, empowering them to care for their furry family members.
